We are currently seeking a Field Technician to become a part of our growing team to install and maintain several different telephone and voice mail systems. 

Field Technician – Responsibilities 

  • Hands on experience with the installation, maintenance, configuration and testing of Nortel, BCM, CICS, MICS, CallPilot 100/150
  • Telephony hardware installations and moves on a wide variety of PBX’s and telephony servers
  • Provide end user training
  • Accurately complete work orders
  • SpectraLink Wireless system installation / maintenance experience an asset
  • 3Com and Avaya experience an asset

 Field Technician – Qualifications

  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP protocols an asset
  • Working knowledge of VoIP technologies an asset
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in a Field Technician role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be available for occasional after hours and on-call work

The Wireless Telephony Technician will work directly with Tel-e Technologies Channel Partners to overcome technical pre-sales and implementation challenges associated with selling our wireless telecommunications products.

Responsibilities

Provide superior telephone-based and on-site technical support to resellers and internal resources.  Problem resolution includes various telephony systems, WLAN network issues and other VoIP devices.  Development and delivery of technical training to resellers and internal sales resources.

 Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on telecommunications experience spanning a wide variety voice technologies and systems (e.g. WLAN, 802.11/Wi-Fi)
  • Strong telephony / telecommunications background with over 3 years of experience with corporate legacy / IP PBX design and implementation is mandatory
  • Knowledge of and experience in VoIP implementations; familiarity with IP based networks and other wireless solutions (ex.  Spectralink, Cisco, Mitel)
  • Familiar with voice systems and applications, telephony hardware/software installation and upgrades
  • Working knowledge of SpectraLink Wireless Systems (asset)
  • Applicable Cisco and Avaya or other certifications
  • Demonstrated success with Customer interaction and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong communication skills are essential to the success of this role complimented with an equally strong understanding of network technology
  • Previous helpdesk experience (asset)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • College/University degree in a technical discipline
  • Ability to quickly master technical information
